Dear colleagues,

Let us start the first session. We will have discussions on the topic of strengthening policy coordination and breaking a new path for growth.

Growth is the core mission of the G20. It is concerned with the employment, income and living standards of the people. It is also the core of macro-economic regulation and control. In this session we will talk about how to promote growth. We will have open discussions on the world economic situation, macro-economic policy coordination, innovation, structural reform, the new industrial revolution, and the digital economy, to name but a few. I hope that from the dual perspectives of handling short-term risks and boosting medium- and long-term growth potential, our discussions will point the way and set the course for the world economy.
